What is an APM Test?
APM means actions per minute. An APM Test measures the rate of accepted actions during a configured time. ClickMetrik's Raw APM counts eligible physical-keyboard and primary-mouse input received by the browser inside the focused capture region.
This is an Actions Per Minute input-rate test. The browser can measure accepted browser input, but it cannot see game state or determine whether an action was strategically useful, redundant, or valuable in a game.
How to take the APM Test
- Choose Raw APM or ClickMetrik-defined Valid APM Challenge.
- Choose 30, 60, or 120 seconds.
- Press Start Test and keep focus in the capture region.
- Raw begins with the first accepted, scored action.
- Valid begins with one unscored start gesture, then presents alternating targets.
- Complete the configured duration and review the result.
New to this page? Start with Raw APM at 60 seconds to learn the input area before trying the target challenge.
How to read your APM result
Raw APM
Raw APM = accepted actions ÷ configured seconds × 60.
120 accepted actions in 60 seconds = 120 Raw APM.
Valid APM
Valid APM = correct target responses ÷ configured seconds × 60. Accuracy = correct responses ÷ judged responses × 100.
45 correct and 15 incorrect actions in 60 seconds = 60 Raw APM, 45 Valid APM, and 75% Accuracy.
Raw APM
The main raw browser-input rate from accepted keyboard and primary-mouse actions.
Valid APM
The correct target-response rate inside the Valid APM Challenge, not universal eAPM.
Accuracy
Correct judged responses ÷ judged responses. This only applies to the challenge context.
Correct / Incorrect Actions
Judged target responses in the challenge. Incorrect actions remain part of Raw APM.
Keyboard / Mouse Actions
The accepted input-source mix, not a skill-balance score.
Average Response Time
Target-response timing in the challenge, not a general reaction-time test.
Peak 10s APM
The fastest formal 10-second window, not the full-run Average APM.
Consistency
The implemented timing-stability metric. It is not rank, skill, or health.
Peak 10s APM is the largest formal action count in a sliding half-open 10-second window, multiplied by 6. Consistency and response-time fields display a dash when their formal inputs are unavailable.
For repeat comparisons, use the same mode and duration. Raw APM and Valid APM are different tasks, so their scores should not be treated as interchangeable. A 30-second Raw APM run should not be compared directly with a 120-second Valid APM Challenge result.
APM, effective APM, and game context
A game-state-aware replay system can classify commands with context. Browser APM cannot see whether an input changed game state, was redundant, or had strategic value.
ClickMetrik's Valid APM Challenge is a page-defined target-response drill. It is not universal eAPM for StarCraft, a MOBA, or another game, and it does not establish that a higher result means a better player.
Limits, comfort, and privacy
Measures
Accepted action/source counts, Raw APM, Valid APM, target correctness, response timing, and local summaries.
Cannot verify
Game skill, rank, useful decisions, cheating, macros, scripts, automation, legality, server behavior, hardware faults, or health.
Local privacy
Compact results stay in this browser. Raw actions, timestamps, key codes, targets, coordinates, DOM events, and identity are not saved.
Formal input requires an eligible physical key or primary-button mouse inside the focused capture region. Touch, pen, other buttons, synthetic input, and actions elsewhere do not count. Stop if you feel pain or noticeable discomfort.
